FAQ

I cannot adopt but want to help, what can I do?
There are many ways to help! Fostering is another way to help as it saves two lives – the life of the pet you are fostering, and that of the animal who fills the kennel of your foster. If you cannot foster, you can view a list of the top ways to help us help homeless pets here.

Are fees waived for all pets?
Thanks to Don's Prepared Foods (makers of Don's Salads and Melanie's Medleys), All dogs and cats up for adoption at the shelter’s main facility at 111 W Hunting Park have their fees waived, and any foster animal whose adoption is processed at the main shelter during the promotion will have their fees waived.

What does the adoption include?
The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, a microchip, vaccines and deworming. It does not include the cost of a dog license, which is $16 and which adopters are required to purchase. Please note that for cat adoptions, a carrier is not included in the adoption, however you may purchase a cardboard carrier for $15.

What do I need to bring with me?
You must bring a photo ID. We also strongly advise that all members of the household come as well so that they too, can meet the animal.

How do I know whose adoptions fees are waived?
When looking at our website, look at the pets listed as being located at the main shelter. New dogs and cats enter our doors daily though, so we strongly encourage coming in person to see the animals up or adoption.
