Adoptions Counselors are responsible for helping potential adopters finding the ideak shelter pet that is most suitable for their family life. Adoption Counselors work very closely with shelter animals, getting to know their personality and history to ensure appropriate placement with the right home. Adoption Counselors also speak at length with potential adopters to guide them through the process of adopting a shelter pet and owning an animal, providing both the adopter and shelter pet the tools that they need to succeed in their new life! This is an excellent career path for anyone who wants to work with directly Philadelphia’s most urgent animals, educate members of our general public, and grow their experience within the world of animal welfare.
