This section lists the current, still at risk, timestamped dogs. These are dogs who have become at risk for euthanasia due to a medical or behavioral condition so severe, that if we are unable to identify an approved Love Local Partner who can accommodate their specific needs, we will have to euthanize due to a lack of housing space, or lack of needed behavioral or medical care resources. If you are an approved partner and are able to confirm for one of our urgent, Timestamped Canines, please email Lifesaving@acctphilly.org
**Adoptable Timestamp dogs are also listed in our available for adoption section. If you are a member of the public who wishes to adopt an Adoptable Timestamp dog, please visit ACCT Philly at 111 W Hunting Park Avenue during our adoption hours or email email@example.com. See our required steps for adoption, here. Additionally, we have many dogs who are available for adoption at ACCT Philly, but would also love placement with a Love Local Partner! Please take a look at the rest of our dogs on our page for adoptable dogs.
CONCERNING BEHAVIOR CANINES
This section lists dogs who have been noted to show concerning in kennel behaviors or have concerning behavioral history reported from the owner or community at the time of shelter admission. We cannot guarantee that dogs listed in this section will be given a Timestamp, as in some instances their behavior with staff or our housing capacity may result in selection for euthanasia and not formal promotion.
TIME TO ADJUST
This section lists dogs who have a history of safe and social behaviors noted from a home or in the process of admission to the shelter, but are showing fearful behavior in our kennels, or signs of aggression to strangers. We hope they may improve with time, but these dogs are not currently available for adoption.
NEW ARRIVALS, NOT YET MEDICALLY EVALUATED FOR ADOPTION PROGRAM
This section lists dogs who have not yet been fully assessed by our intake staff as apparently healthy and ready for adoption. Unless aggressive behavior or a severe medical condition prevent it, all dogs are fully vaccinated with age appropriate, core shelter vaccinations, given topical flea/tick prevention, an oral dewormer, and a quick nose to tail exam including checking the teeth to estimate age and overall health.
This exam is not performed by a veterinarian, however our intake staff are trained to look for even relatively mild medical conditions, and will place a dog on “Pending Veterinary Assessment” if any concerns are noted.
