CATS AVAILABLE FOR RESCUE PLACEMENT
URGENT TIMESTAMPED CATS!
This section lists the current, still at risk, timestamped cats. These are cats who have become at risk for euthanasia due to a medical or behavioral condition so severe, that if we are unable to find appropriate placement, we will have to euthanize due to a lack of housing space, or lack of needed behavioral or medical care resources.
All timestamped cats are available to be saved by approved Love Local Partners who can accommodate their specific needs. Many are also available through our Foster Program* and Adoption Program.** Foster or Adoption availability is listed at the top of each cat’s biography.
*If you are an approved Foster Parent or Love Local Partner and are able to confirm for one of our urgent, timestamped cats, please email Lifesaving@acctphilly.or
**If you are a member of the public who wishes to adopt an Adoptable timestamped cat, please visit ACCT Philly at 111 W Hunting Park Avenue during our adoption hours, or email adopt@acctphilly.org. See our required steps for adoption.
CATS ONLY AVAILABLE TO LOVE LOCAL PARTNERS (DUE TO MEDICAL NEEDS OR PENDING MEDICAL ASSESSMENT)
This section lists cats who have been diagnosed with possible medical issues that are not currently eligible through our Adoption or Foster Program or cats who are pending a full exam by one of our Veterinarians due to noted medical concerns.
These cats are currently ONLY available to approved Love Local Partners, but may become available through our Foster Program and Adoption Program once assessed by our Veterinarians.
CATS NEEDING TIME TO ADJUST TO THE SHELTER (TTA)
This section lists cats who previously lived in a home, but are not adjusting well to the unfamiliar shelter environment. The behavior of these cats may range from fearful asocial to fearful reactive, and who may have reported potentially aggressive behavior displayed towards humans. ACCT Philly will share all available history with an adopter or Love Local Partner.
This section lists cats who previously lived in a home, but are not adjusting well to the unfamiliar shelter environment. These behaviorally urgent cats refer to those who have been observed to be asocial, fearful, scared, nervous, and potentially reactive. They are currently being given time-to-adjust (TTA) to the shelter in quiet, low traffic space, but these cats would benefit from leaving the shelter to decompress in a home environment. ACCT Philly will share all available history with a potential adopter, foster parent, or Love Local Partner.
Although we cannot make any guarantee that behavior will improve in a home, a majority of these cats have reports of thriving in their previous homes. These cats will require an owner who is knowledgeable with feline behavior, and who will give them the time and patience necessary to acclimate and thrive in their new home environment.
TTA (Time to Adjust) cats are available to approved Love Local Partner who can accommodate their specific needs. Many are also available through our Foster Program and Adoption Program to an experienced and informed handler.
