Volunteer with ACCT Philly!

Whether by joining our running team or pen pals, walking dogs, socializing cats, or helping in one of the many other ways, volunteers make a difference in the lives of shelter animals!

We are excited to announce that our onboarding and orientation for new volunteers has resumed!  Find out more information by exploring the ‘Becoming a Shelter Volunteer’ section below!

Becoming A Main Shelter Volunteer

What do main shelter volunteers do?

Volunteering As A Group

How can my group volunteer?

ACCT Philly is committed to providing all visitors with a supportive, friendly, safe and positive environment.

Our staff, volunteers, and partners are expected to uphold standards of conduct, promote a civil community and help maintain a positive working environment for everyone who dedicates their time to the animals in our care and those who visit to utilize our services. Visiting patrons are asked to treat others as they would like to be treated, and to follow a general code of conduct.

We believe that all visitors are entitled to a safe, empathetic, professional and supportive environment with mutual respect and courtesy.

“Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.”

Quality photos of animals that advertise their amazing personalities increase opportunities to find a forever home!

Our transfer partners and foster parents often need help with transporting the animals they are saving!  Driver’s license required.

Dog/Cat Socialization

A shelter can be stressful for dogs and cats. Participating in socialization can decrease stress and increase adoptability!

Event Leaders

Adoption, Community, and Fundraising events are a great occasion to promote the shelter, recruit new volunteers and spotlight adoptable animals!
